Nontraditional Books

The grant was also used to buy some "nontraditional" books--these are books that will not circulate at the library, but will be available during Legos @ your library meetings.
These books come with Lego bricks and the book gives instructions for building specific items.  When a child wants to use one of these books during the club meeting they will "sign" it out.  I hope this will help to ensure ALL pieces are returned!

When I was at the Scholastic Warehouse book sale I saw these two Lego sticker books I just could not pass up--they were so cute!  They weren't practical for library, so I just bought them with my own money.
Later I figured out a way to use them for Lego club--I cut the spine off, attached the stickers, and put each page in a clear plastic sheet protector and put them in a 3-ring binder.  Now the kids will be able to look at these cool sticker books and I won't have to worry about loosing stickers!
Each book came with tons of "extra" stickers, that have been cut apart and kids can choose a Lego sticker at each club meeting until they're gone.
